Vaccination pass fakes in Fürth: Police with a focus action - they find much more

Since October, the Nuremberg Criminal Investigation Department has been investigating falsified vaccination records.
Over 90 enforcement decisions have now been enforced – with success.
Fürth – According to the police, in autumn 2021 the number of cases of counterfeit vaccination certificates related to the corona virus in the city and district of Fürth near Nuremberg increased rapidly.
The Fürth criminal police took this as an opportunity to set up a working group that dealt exclusively with this phenomenon.
The main suspects were people who were accused of having presented fake vaccination cards in pharmacies in order to illegally obtain vaccination certificates.

According to the police press release, numerous investigations into forgery of documents were initiated as a result.
In the course of this, the investigators applied for more than 90 search warrants for houses and apartments in the city of Fürth and in the surrounding district.
These were then enforced between February and May 2022.
According to the police, the detectives carried out the decisions made in three targeted actions.
The focus campaign proved to be a success: "The emergency services managed to secure fake vaccination certificates and illegally obtained vaccination certificates in around two-thirds of the searches," says the police report.

Corona: Police find fake vaccination cards - and more
Numerous people have already been sentenced to fines for the fake vaccination certificates.
But during the house and apartment searches, the investigators found even more - the report speaks of "accidental finds".
They found various prohibited items such as butterfly knives and throwing stars, and in several cases small amounts of illegal narcotics.
A special case: In the Fürth apartment of a 24-year-old, the police officers came across around 385 grams of marijuana.
Here, too, there are consequences: "The officers also initiated proceedings against them and a 27-year-old man who was also found during the search on suspicion of illegal trafficking in narcotics," according to the police press release.
