Starnberg – The summer temperatures are increasingly enticing people to go outside and sun-seekers are drawn to the lakes.

In Starnberg, the seaside resort is preparing for the upcoming season and, in addition to refreshment in the lake and the fantastic view of the Alps, offers unrestricted operation again after the many corona restrictions.

The Starnberg district messenger asked the deputy operations manager Jesco Ringwald what awaits visitors to the seaside resort.

"Thank God," says Ringwald, the outdoor pool season is now almost unconditional.

Except for the mask requirement in the entrance area, there are no longer any restrictions.

Ringwald has been employed at the municipal facility for 14 years, but he has never experienced anything like it.

There have been "very hard times" in the past two years, when the pool has remained completely closed or only 25 or 50 percent of possible guests are allowed in.

But since it opened at the beginning of the month, it's getting busier every day, he observes.

This is due to the rising temperatures.

The seaside resort is prepared for the coming season, Ringwald conveys this impression when he reports on the preparations for the bathing season.

A second table tennis table has been set up these days and the beach volleyball field on the bathing area can already be used.

No more restrictions on the number of visitors

In addition, the large open-air chessboard is available again for mental athletes.

In about three weeks, an extendable sun sail will be installed over the children's pool to give the youngest visitors carefree paddling fun even in strong sunlight.

Entry prices remain the same

"The restrictions have been lifted again," explains the deputy manager, which means that 2,000 people are now allowed to use the pool at the same time.

It is also pleasing for the bathers that the prices have not increased.

The city still charges five euros for adults and 3.50 euros for children.

Long-term guests now have the opportunity to save money again by purchasing a season ticket.

There is also a family card.

Learn to swim, paddle and watch movies

Ringwald confirms that the seaside resort in Starnberg does not lack supervisors like in other bathing establishments.

Eleven supervisors are available.

The entire team consists of 35 employees.

You can sweat in the seaside resort not only in the sunshine outdoors.

A sauna night is also offered in the sauna area of the seaside resort every first Friday of the month.

It's a way of enjoying the warmth on cloudy days.

But as long as the sun is shining, bathers are drawn out into the lake.

You can also explore it while stand-up paddling, says Ringwald.

There is an external provider in the seaside resort for this.

Swimming courses can also be taken in the seaside resort - after the limited range of courses in the past two years, sufficient safety can be ensured for swimming beginners again.

Ringwald also mentions the film screenings in the seaside resort as part of the Five Lakes Film Festival.

In August and September, exciting thrillers and heartbreaking love stories are shown directly on the lake and in the open air.

No complaints about the water quality of the lakes in the district of Starnberg

There are no complaints about the water quality of Lake Starnberg, which Ringwald jokingly describes as “the largest outdoor basin in Germany” with a length of 25 kilometers.

The district office reports on a corresponding measurement in the pre-season on May 2nd in the Possenhofen/Niederpöcking bathing area and announces another test in June.

The pre-season sampling of the Ammersee water in the Herrschinger Bucht bathing area and on the south-west bank of the Oberndorf am Wörthsee bathing area also ran without any problems.

The Pilsensee also has optimal conditions for this year's bathing at the bathing area on the east side.
