Women at the top: Saar state parliament elects female vice presidents

In the future, three women will head the Saarland state parliament, which was newly elected in March.
The state parliament elected the CDU MP Dagmar Heib (59) and the SPD MP Christina Baltes (59) as new vice presidents on Wednesday.

Saarbrücken – Since the March 27 election, the SPD has had a clear majority in the 51-seat state parliament with 29 seats.
The CDU has 19 seats, the AfD 3. At the beginning of the plenary session, the SPD politician Sevim Kaya-Karadag was officially committed as a member of parliament.
She replaced Sebastian Thul, who became State Secretary in the Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection.
