Aachen: Heavy thunderstorms begin in the southwest of NRW

The people in the south-west of North Rhine-Westphalia will be the first in the country to expect severe thunderstorms and storms on Thursday.
A meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) said the thunderstorm was already moving over the Aachen city region on Thursday afternoon.
There is a risk of storms locally.
From the early afternoon onwards, heavy gusts of wind with up to 100 kilometers per hour can occur throughout the state in addition to heavy rain.
Aachen – Local hurricane gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour are also possible.
Locally, people would also have to reckon with larger hailstones.
During the night, the probability of storms temporarily decreases again.
Heavy thunderstorms are expected again from Friday afternoon.
