Sufficient rooms for childcare are available in the city.
However, in many places there is a lack of the necessary specialist staff.

Parents are finding it harder than ever this year to place their child in a crèche or kindergarten.
Currently 168 younger and 147 older children cannot be admitted.
The main reason for the misery is the lack of skilled workers.
Germering – The supply situation in day-care centers has worsened significantly, especially in the crèche area.
The responsible head of office, Martin Rattenberger, presented figures to the social committee that say one thing above all: More parents than ever have no daycare for their children in September.
The due date
According to Rattenberger, there are 168 eligible one- to three-year-olds in the crèche area who are currently not getting a place - last year there were 89 at the same time. A total of 378 children were registered.
34 did not get a place because she was born after the deadline - but they will reach the minimum age later in the year.
The situation is similar in the kindergarten area.
574 girls and boys were registered here.
70 were born after the cut-off date and are only eligible later in the year.
Because only 357 places can be occupied in the new school year, 147 children go away empty-handed - last year there were even more with 195.
There are a total of around 1,500 kindergarten and 490 crèche places in the city.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)
The children of refugees from Ukraine are not included in the statistics.
From the point of view of Martin Rattenberger, however, it is already foreseeable that the city will still have a lot to do here.
According to Rattenberger, the biggest problem when it comes to childcare is the blatant shortage of skilled workers.
221 kindergarten places and 69 crèche places cannot be filled because there are no staff.
If all groups that are spatially possible could be formed, there would even be a surplus in the kindergartens.
We will therefore work hard to recruit staff.
When it comes to childcare, the city is no different than all the municipalities in the Munich commuter belt, Rattenberger explained.
He called his colleagues in the district and in Dachau and heard similar complaints everywhere.

closure
The announcement by the Munich-Freising professorship to close the St. Cecilia kindergarten at the end of the school year fits into this negative picture.
According to Rattenberger, the city will lose 75 places that could potentially be occupied.
He also confirmed when asked by Herbert Sedlmeier that in fact no fewer children are regretted as a result.
Reason: Due to the lack of staff, not all places have been occupied in St. Cecilia.
And in the church kindergarten St. Martin, where the Cecilia children are supposed to go from September, it was similar.
The city continues to hope that there will finally be talks with the church about the future of the St. Cecilia kindergarten, explained Mayor Andreas Haas.
It should be about the offer of the city that they take over the kindergarten and take care of a carrier and staff themselves.
The archbishop's ordinariate has only now reacted to the offer of talks.
CSU city councilor Eva Kuchler wanted to know whether temporary trained childminders could be used in the kindergarten and thus reduce the personnel problem.
Martin Rattenberger replied that this is possible.
However, no additional groups could be formed with childminders.
By law, only professionals are allowed to do this.
At best, childminders could be used to provide support.
