Again and again there were complaints about noise and garbage from truck drivers parking at night.
Newly erected signs now regulate a night-time parking ban on Am Etzfeld in Harthofen.
Harthofen
– Signs that prohibit parking at night should now bring peace to the Am Etzfeld industrial park in Harthofen.
For years there have been problems with foreign truck drivers who spend their breaks here in the evening and at night.
The fact that they didn't always remain silent was particularly annoying for the residents of the manager's apartments, who complained about the loud engine noise.
Other residents also complained about thrown away garbage and damage to property such as fences that had been hit.
Even a junction box has been damaged.
The parking ban has been discussed several times in the municipal council, but always controversially.
It was repeatedly argued that this is not a purely residential area, but a commercial area with housing options.
However, the fact that there was sometimes massive damage from maneuvering trucks was not acceptable to any of the councillors.
The signs now installed prohibit parking from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Now there is a handle for the authorities to take action against violations.
