Dutch police have arrested three gang members responsible for a series of ATM bombings in Germany that netted them nearly a million euros, it has been reported. Thursday May 19 Europol.
They were arrested on Tuesday in the cities of Haarlem and Vianen, in the Netherlands, said the European police agency.

Usually using stolen vehicles, they operated in the middle of the night and blew up the ATM before recovering the money.
Their attacks on eight ATMs in October and November 2021 brought them 958,000 euros, Europol said.
This technique has become widespread in Germany in recent years.
In September 2021, Dutch and German police dismantled a gang of robbers who also made video tutorials explaining how to blow up ATMs, which they then sold in person to other robbers.

They would order different models of ATMs and record tutorials on how to blow them up most effectively.
One of the gang members had been killed and another seriously injured when a test went wrong in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
This resulted in the arrest of nine people, accused of at least 15 attacks on distributors in Germany, for a loot of 2.15 million euros.
