Schwabhausen now has its first barrier-free bus stop.
During the Easter holidays, the stop at Münchener Straße 13, opposite the town hall, was renewed.
High-floor curbs have now been installed at the bus stop to make it easier to get on and off the bus.
Wheelchair or walker users can now get on and off at ground level from the bus to the bus stop or vice versa.
A tactile guidance system with floor indicators now helps when crossing the street and getting on and off the bus.
Visually impaired and blind people know where the bus stops and where they can safely cross the street because of the structure of the panels.
The community would like to build another shelter.
Due to the manufacturer's delivery problems, installation was delayed until the summer.
The aim of the municipality is to make further bus stops in the municipality barrier-free.
