Civil Protection of the Mexican state of Jalisco reported on Twitter that at least 14 people died and 20 were injured after the crash of a bus on the Tuxcueca - Citala highway.
Civil Protection added that the bus apparently had a failure in the brake system and the driver collided head-on with a wall on the side of the road.
Authorities said rescuers continue to attend to the emergency.
