At the Merkaz Harav yeshiva, they finally decided not to invite Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and opposition leader MK Benjamin Netanyahu to the traditional Jerusalem Day celebrations.
In order to avoid getting involved in political issues, it was decided that instead of the prime minister's speech, state figures would speak - President Yitzhak Herzog and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, as well as rabbis.

About a week ago, it was announced that the Merkaz Harav yeshiva was considering not inviting Prime Minister Bennett to the celebrations, in which the prime minister has been participating for years.

In the ads of the Jerusalem Municipality in which the events of Jerusalem Day were published, and published in the Shabbat leaflets, it was stated that the event will be held with the participation of the President of the State, the Mayor of Jerusalem, ministers and chief rabbis.
However, it must be said that even at the last minute the yeshiva can change their minds and invite one or two of the senior figures.
