On the contrary, Bakary Diallo (Omar Sy in his mother tongue) thinks only of escaping the hell of the First World War, in the Ardennes in 1917, far from his native land where he was forcibly recruited with his son Thierno (Alassane Diong).
Once in the trenches, the son takes the lead while his father does everything to prevent him from ending up in cannon fodder.
