Who doesn't want to be strong when life is hard?

And persevere when you're weak on the way to your goal?

Or grow from crises instead of despairing of them?

Inner resilience is the key to getting through turbulent times.

A new US study has also shown this: The Covid 19 pandemic has triggered stress in anxious people, both in younger and older people.

But those who acted with foresight instead of being overwhelmed by emotions, who thought about strategies to minimize risk and stuck to them, had a significantly lower stress level during this time.

So are resilient people really invulnerable?

Do they have some kind of superpower that helps them keep their heads up?

And: Is this gift innate or can it be actively learned?

You can learn a lot.

Scientists now agree on that.

Raphael Kalisch, resilience researcher and professor at the University of Mainz, and his team conducted one of the most extensive current resilience studies.

He clearly concludes that resilience is not an innate shield, but a form of activity.

In other words, how we deal with difficult life situations is crucial.

Ultimately, we solve crises in small steps.

And there it simply makes a difference whether we basically assume that it will somehow turn out well.

Or give up in desperation after just a few meters.

Or whether we keep an eye on how to stay strong even in difficult times or whether we neglect our health in the face of stress and strain.

It is therefore worth treating yourself to resilience fitness training.

SPIEGEL Coaching has developed an eight-week training program that focuses on building and expanding mental resilience.

And about recognizing at which levels you are already well positioned.

Because this knowledge also makes you satisfied and strengthens you.

The program includes eight simple and everyday exercises.

They will be emailed out weekly on Fridays, starting on May 20th.

The coaching is free and you can register here:
