Safsaf Al-Khabour Cultural Association organized a musical heritage concert at Qasioun Popular Café in Al-Hasakah this evening, as part of the association's interest in preserving the intangible heritage in the Syrian island.
The ceremony, which was attended by a number of artists, musicians and poets from the people of the province, included heritage songs that included the colors of the Nile, the Ataba, the Mimr, the Mawla, and Arab, Kurdish, Merdali, and Assyrian traditional songs accompanied by the rhythm of the Bouzoq instrument, the lute and the masoula, in addition to paragraphs and poetic passages from the heritage of the island.
The head of the association’s board of directors, researcher Ahmed Al-Hussein, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the aim of holding the activity in one of the public cafés is to meet the public outside the halls and official cultural places, and to reach the largest segment of the people to present varieties and colors of Al-Jazrawi’s lyrical, musical and poetic heritage, which reflects the richness of the governorate’s heritage and aesthetics. Its social diversity, which constitutes a beautiful painting that reflects the beauty of the grand image of Syria and its ancient people.
Al-Hussein pointed out that the event won the satisfaction and interaction of the public, especially the youth segment, which must be focused on and linked to its heritage, which constitutes an essential and important part of our national identity in light of their great influence on modern technology, pointing out that the association puts in its program the implementation of many cultural, artistic and heritage programs in cooperation with institutions cultural and local community.
