The president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, said this Wednesday that he understands the position of the Latin American leaders who have questioned the fact that the United States has not yet invited his country to the Summit of the Americas, but that he is not interested in attending, and that the Central American nation must make itself respected.
US officials have said that Washington has not yet sent out official invitations to the Summit.
