“This accommodation had been allocated to his partner in 1997 and when he declared himself to be co-occupant, he did not report his income. (…) We scrupulously check the allocations, even more so after election periods, but this deputy has escaped our vigilance”

, explains the social landlord Paris Habitat to Mediapart.

"Remuneration not sufficient to stay beyond this rent"

Joined by the investigative media, Jérôme Lambert judges that there is

"nothing morally shocking" in his situation.

He confirms that he has lived in this apartment for more than twenty years but that he intends to leave it in June.

“My rent has changed little for 30 years and when it goes back to the normal park of the city, the monthly rent will exceed 2000 euros (…) Me, I would be asked for that amount, any deputy that I am, I might have trouble paying it.

You know, the price of rents in Paris is still something.

The remuneration of the deputies is important but not sufficient to lodge beyond this rent, except to reside in the Assembly or in the hotel ”,

defends the nephew of François Mitterrand.
