The daycare situation in Gröbenzell is coming to a head.
The main reason is the staff situation.
The city had to send out cancellations again.
Gröbenzell – On Monday, the parents received an email informing them whether their child would be given a place in a day-care center for the 2022/23 care year starting next September.
Some have to swallow a bitter pill: Not everyone will be given a place in a kindergarten or crèche, as was the case last year.
The exact number of those affected was no longer known on Monday.
Last year there were 30 crèche and ten kindergarten places missing.
According to a press release from the town hall, many of the actually existing kindergarten and crèche places in the municipality cannot be filled this year.
The reason given is the extremely tense personnel situation.
This problem is not new either.
A sad situation, they say.
Gröbenzell: The city cannot offer enough daycare places - due to a lack of staff
The lack of pedagogical specialists is a problem throughout Bavaria and is currently hitting many facilities in the municipality of Gröbenzell hard.
Mayor Martin Schäfer (UWG) asks those affected for their understanding.
“We know about the challenge for the parents concerned and very much regret the situation.
We would love to only make promises, but unfortunately we sometimes have to send rejections, prioritized according to the age of the child and the urgency of the care needs.”

Day-care center in Gröbenzell in short supply: parents should look for alternatives
Together with all the providers of the affected facilities, the municipality is working flat out to continue finding qualified staff in the childcare sector, despite the systemic shortage of staff, in order to defuse the tense situation.
The municipality of Gröbenzell nevertheless expressly asks the parents concerned to examine individual alternatives to the daycare center in Gröbenzell: be it company care facilities, mutual parent networks, private care by (borrowed) grandmother or au pair as well as other solutions, according to in the press release.
