It is not known whether the two men were driving drunk or still wanted to.

Nevertheless, patrol officers from the Poing police may have saved them from foolishness.

Vaterstetten/Gelting – Patrol officers from the Poing Police Inspectorate allegedly saved two men from greater stupidity on Wednesday evening and Thursday night.

Both were heavily drunk and in cars.

The headline of the police press report reads: "Druined driving prevented".

Number 1:

Around 9 p.m., the police were informed that a man was sitting in a parked car on Baldhamer Straße in Vaterstetten and was drinking beer.

When a patrol crew checked the man, it turned out that the 49-year-old sat in his parked car after an argument and drank a few beers there.

A voluntary breath alcohol test revealed a value of over two per thousand.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.

According to the police, no evidence could be found that the man had driven the car, the hood was cold.

The officials only secured the vehicle keys as a precaution.

Number 2:

Another patrol did the same shortly before 4 a.m. on Finsinger Straße in Gelting (district of Pliening).

A woman on her way to work informed police that a man was sleeping in a car parked on the side of the road.

This struck her as odd, police said.

Here, too, the occupant was drunk (result of the breath alcohol test: more than one per mille), here too the bonnet was cold.

The police officers were able to persuade the 39-year-old car painter from the Mühldorf district to take a taxi home.

"As soon as the two men are able to drive again, they will be given the vehicle keys again": The police report ends with this sentence.
