The leader of the PP will continue to defend that the Spanish nation is made up of different nationalities and regions, as stated in the Constitution, although this term was discussed from the beginning by the father of the Constitution and founder of the PP Manuel Fraga and provokes misgivings in sections to the right.

The commitment of the popular leadership is to "defend" the Constitution, Cuca Gamarra stressed, against "those who want to change it, those who want to fight it and those who want to break it."

While Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, defends that Spain is a "single nation" and the autonomous communities have "peculiarities", Alfonso Rueda, recently elected president of the Xunta de Galicia, claims that his land is a "nationality historical”.
In parallel, the general secretary of the popular party has spoken to questions from journalists about the audios revealed by EL PAÍS referring to the past of corruption of the PP.
Gamarra has followed in the footsteps of Feijóo and has downplayed the importance of the recordings, from eight years ago, that uncover the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior to hide the scandal of the b box that the former treasurer of the PP Luis Bárcenas handled.
