The sun is back, the cars are coming out of the garages. And watches too, when it comes to devouring the asphalt.

Back to Monaco

The TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf was back this year for the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

This special edition with a diameter of 39 mm co-created with the Gulf brand is equipped with the Heuer 02 manufacture movement. For this new edition, the design of the TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf (€6,700) continues to be inspired by the three colors emblematic of Gulf, but this time in a more contemporary combination: dark blue, characteristic of Gulf, turquoise and orange.

For the first time, the three colors are also present on the minute sub-counters at 3 o'clock.

Finally, the Gulf logo on the dial is totally white.

Small vintage detail at 12 o'clock: the 60 index refers to the typology of the very famous Porsche 917.

A finely revisited design.

On the back, the TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition features a unique version of the Heuer Caliber 02 oscillating weight and column wheel with a special colored engraving matching Gulf's Pantone Orange.

As for the strap, it is in perforated blue calfskin with an orange lining.

Green Aton Martin Girard-Perregaux

A Laureato for Aston Martin F1

Last year, the Manufacture Girard-Perregaux became the official watchmaking partner of the British manufacturer Aston Martin and the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One (AMF1) team.

This new Laureato Absolute Chronograph Edition AM F1 has a 44 mm case made from titanium powder and carbon elements from two F1 single-seaters that raced in the 2021 season – unheard of in the watch industry.

Through a high-tech manufacturing process, the various components are brought together and mixed with a tinted resin.

The resulting material offers greater strength than steel.

“This collaboration has brought out innovative and interesting ideas with, in the end, the creation of exciting new products, explains Patrick Pruniaux,

CEO of Girard-Perregaux.

For this new watch, we sought to get closer to the F1 facet of the brand, placing more emphasis on the concept of performance.

The “Aston Martin Green” strap of this model is made up of FKM rubber (FKM) and carbon elements that come from two Formula 1 single-seaters that competed last season.

It offers greater flexibility and resistance than traditional rubber.

The dial, also in “Vert Aston Martin” with a sunburst finish, is decorated with cross-hatching – a pattern that dates from the Aston Martin logo in 1921.
