A large-scale fire broke out this Thursday morning in the building of the sub-prefecture of Saint-Julien-en-Genevois (73), learned France Bleu Pays de Savoie.
Information quickly confirmed by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, who indicated on Twitter to go there at the end of the day.
According to France bleu, the fire would have taken around 9 a.m. this morning.
About fifteen agents were evacuated: those of the sub-prefecture, those of France Services, and those of the Academic Inspectorate who also work in the building.
Some 70 firefighters from all over Haute-Savoie but also from Switzerland were mobilized to put an end to the disaster and prevent the fire from spreading further.
Impressive images shared on social networks show the roof of the building, ravaged by flames.
An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire.
According to information from France Bleu, electrical renovation work had been underway for ten days.
