Tehran-Sana
The Assistant to the President of the Republic and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, announced that his country not only produces 20 percent enriched nuclear fuel, but is also working on 60 percent enriched fuel.
"The enemies' attempts to sabotage the Iranian nuclear technology sector have turned it into the front line of the confrontation front," Eslami was quoted by the Iranian news agency IRNA as saying, noting that Iranian scientists initiated the industrialization process and accomplished 20% enrichment, which is what the Tehran reactor needs. Today, they produce 60 percent enriched fuel as well.
Eslami referred to health sector products, radioactive drugs, and the move towards therapeutic plasma and heavy water, and said, "Unfortunately, our enemies are trying to prevent us from that on the pretext that we want to use it in the production of nuclear weapons, and if we had not entered the field of nuclear technology, we would now be far behind in this field."
