Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced today that his country will double its financial aid to Ukraine to 600 million dollars.
"Japan will reiterate its basic position of providing strong support to Ukraine with other countries at next week's US-Japan summit and the broader four-way meeting with Australia and India," Kishida was quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.
Japan, a member of the Group of Seven industrialized nations, earlier announced $300 million in loans to Ukraine, and joined other allies and members of the group in imposing sanctions against Russia under the pretext of its own operation to protect Donbass.
