The decision to hold the flag parade at the Nablus Gate is also seen on the Arab street as a provocation to be opposed. • An activist from East Jerusalem: "It is our right to protest and it is our presence on the ground that will determine."

The Palestinians are following with great interest the reports that are being published in Israel around the outline of the flag parade.

Yesterday (Wednesday), it was reported in "Israel Today" that the Minister of Internal Security, Amar Bar-Lev, approved the march in its regular outline, which also includes a march through the Nablus Gate.

The Israeli decision to allow marchers to pass through the gate on Jerusalem Day is seen by the Palestinian side as a "provocation" to be opposed.

Activists from East Jerusalem say that the events that accompanied the funeral procession of journalist Sheerin Abu Akla and the young Palestinian who died of his wounds about a month ago raised the courage of young people from East Jerusalem to confront Israel.

"They announced that the march would take place at the Nablus Gate. This means that Israel wants a confrontation and is not looking for peace. Since yesterday, we have been talking about this thing here with us. It cannot be passed without protest.

"Opposition to this thing does not necessarily have to be by force of arms," another Palestinian activist from the east of the capital told Israel Today.

He claims that the magnetometer crisis that erupted in 2017 is a testament to the power of protest in the Arab street: "We have already proven that we can subdue Israel without firing a single shot, what happened then shows that our protest has power. East Jerusalem residents came out en masse to defend their rights. .

"Israel has lost and we know we have enough power to defend our position, Jerusalem and al-Aqsa. What will Israel do? Again, the police will oppress the Palestinian protesters with batons? It is our right to protest and our presence on the ground will determine."

"You think there are planned moves, but no, people are doing things even without planning, and I can not guarantee in advance what the mood of the street will be on the day of the flag parade," said another political activist dealing with the issue.

"It is a challenge for the young people of Jerusalem. They are ready to stand in front of the armed police without fear, even without having weapons. They know it is the right thing to do, to confront those who occupy and oppress you. There is no faction that can make a decision and force something on us."

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Almiadin network reported that the organizations in Gaza had sent a message to Israel that they would not allow the flag parade to pass through the Nablus Gate as planned.

It was also reported that the Palestinian resistance would not agree to crossing the red lines drawn in Jerusalem in Operation Wall Guard.
