During the Pentecost holidays, bathers have to make room for the craftsmen.

Due to joint work, the Geretsried indoor pool will remain closed.

Geretsried – Around eight months after the opening of the new school and sports pool on Adalbert-Stifter-Straße, the craftsmen have to do it again.

"Due to repair work in the area of the floor joints, the Geretsried indoor pool will remain closed during the Pentecost holidays," the city announced.

The measure lasts from Saturday, June 4th, until probably Sunday, June 19th.

When asked, City Hall spokesman Thomas Loibl did not answer what exactly the repair work on the tiles on the edge of the pool and in the shower area was all about.

Recently, at a meeting of the main and finance committee, there was talk of “deficiencies”.

"Childhood diseases" would have to be fixed.

There was also an incident during the construction work.

When subsequent welding work was carried out in the stainless steel basin, the insulating material behind it began to burn.

The affected section of fairing had to be replaced.

Indoor pool open again as usual after the Pentecost holidays

The school and sports pool is an inter-municipal project of the city of Geretsried together with the district as well as Wolfratshausen, Dietramszell, Egling, Königsdorf, Eurasburg, Münsing and Icking.

The public utilities have been operating the new pool since September last year.

The facility is not quite finished yet: work is still being carried out on the outside area.

The latest cost forecast for the new building is 18.5 million euros.

As soon as the repair work on the arch joints has been completed, the usual opening times for public bathing operations will apply again after the Whitsun holidays.

These are: Monday 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.;
