DECRYPTION - The UN counts 5.5 million Ukrainian refugees who fled the war. They are mainly found in neighboring countries but also in the rest of the EU, which has implemented a welcoming policy.


1. The Rush to the West

According to UN and Unicef ​​figures, 5.5 million Ukrainians - including 2.5 million children - have fled their country since the start of the conflict on 24 February.

They first left for neighboring countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova) before reaching the rest of the continent.
