Lattakia City Council continues the cleaning campaign with the approach of the tourist season

With the approach of summer and the tourist season, the cleaning campaign carried out by the Lattakia City Council continues, as part of a periodic program aimed at cleaning the city's neighborhoods of garbage and getting rid of insects and rodents.

The director of hygiene in the city council, Ammar al-Qusiri, told SANA reporter that the workshops operate over two shifts, morning and evening, by running mobile workers to sweep streets, in addition to running garbage compactors, treks and tippers.

Al-Qusiri pointed out that a periodic program for pest control has been established that targets the city’s neighborhoods without exception. Aerobic and foggy pesticides, wax and granular rodenticides are used, and the spraying operations ensure the breeding and spread of insects inside sewage nozzles, garbage containers and basements.

Al-Qusiri pointed out that the automatic sweepers are run by the Automated Sweeping Division, which roams all highways and main streets in the morning and evening through workshops that include a number of workers with a supervisor engineer, where the streets and dirt are swept, weeds are cut, and the remains of landfills and rain are transferred according to the work program.

Al-Qusiri stressed the intensification of the work of the workshops to reach all the main axes in the city, starting from the entrance to the city from the Al-Bassa Bridge towards the university roundabout node, all the way to the Damsarkho road, the beach road and the western and southern corniche, pointing to the implementation of two cleanliness campaigns in the Zagazigiyah neighborhood for 3 consecutive days and in the Saliba neighborhood for 4 days a week The past, while work is currently continuing in the Datour neighborhood.

The number of operating mechanisms in the directorate is 25 compressors for emptying garbage and 8 collection and deportation vehicles that roam the areas of popular housing where there are no containers due to narrow streets and alleys.
