The Linden volunteer fire brigade has a new portable pump vehicle.

It has an unofficial name and there is a plan for the previous car as well.

Linden – Petrus must be a friend of the fire brigade: In bright sunshine, the Linden volunteer fire brigade celebrated the inauguration of their new portable pump vehicle (TSF-W) with a procession and field service together with the mayor, sponsored fire brigades and many guests.

"We celebrate with God so that he will bless everything we do," said Dean Thomas Neuberger.

"And what we can't do, he can do." The priest reminded us of the commandment to love one's neighbor.

“When you're called,” he addressed the firefighters, “don't ask who needs help or if they've done you any good before.

You just come and help, just as you want help in the opposite case.”

Unofficial name for new fire truck is "Schorsch"

In order to be able to provide effective help in the event of fire or accidents, you need the right resources.

"I think we have that now," said Commander Michael Gruber.

In the new, 190 hp TSF-W there is also space for four breathing apparatus carriers.

It cost 240,000 euros.

Of this, the Free State takes over 37,000 euros.

"Especially when it comes to technical loading, we took over a lot from the old car in order to save money," explained the commander.

In theory, the new deployment device has two names.

The official one is "Florian Linden 46/1", the unofficial "Schorsch", Gruber: "On the day of acceptance in February, my deputy Georg Wieser became the father of a little Schorsch.

And because he now had a Schorsch, we wanted one too.”

District Fire Councilor Erich Zengerle underlined the wide range of tasks of the fire service.

"You're ready for anything now," he said.

"You sacrifice your free time to serve others.

And I can only say: Linden knows his trade.” This was also emphasized by Dietramszell's Mayor Josef Hauser.

Because the best technology is useless if nobody can use it.

Old fire engine is donated to Ukraine

Contrary to initial plans, the 36-year-old predecessor vehicle will not be sold.

"We are donating it to the Ukraine through the State Fire Brigade Association," reported Hauser.

"We are convinced that this is a good investment." Gruber will bring it to Poland in a convoy with other vehicles at the end of May.

The goal is a fire service school about 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Dean Neuberger therefore took the opportunity to give his blessing to the old vehicle as well.
