The littering in the Mühltal is a major nuisance that obviously cannot be stopped.

Landlord Robert Hirtl has been taking care of the disposal for a long time.

Now the community is helping him.

Straßlach

- The Isar meadows and the Mühlthal are among the most beautiful local recreation areas in the district.

Summer visitors come to the Isar with plenty of picnic baskets and well-stocked lunch bags and often leave their dirt right there.

Municipality pays fees

Above all, Robert Hirtl, landlord of the Gasthaus zur Mühle, has to invest time every day to clean up the legacies.

So far he even had the garbage disposed of at his own expense.

But that should be the end of it now.

Mayor Hans Sienerth did not want to leave the innkeeper and the residents of the Mühltal alone with the garbage problem.

That's why he gave him a 120-liter garbage can without further ado.

The municipality also pays the garbage fees.

"The Mühlthal with its section of the Isar is one of our most valuable natural reservoirs in the municipal area, but also in the district of Munich.

Lately I've noticed that more and more garbage is left lying around.

That does not fit me.

With the big bin that no one can overlook, we want to encourage visitors to dispose of their rubbish in it.

That helps everyone: nature, local residents,

but also the visitors of the Mühlthal,” said Sienerth at the handover.
