Message in the bottle: Medicine is coming to the fore Israel today

2022-05-19T20:22:25.694Z

An act in an expensive medicine bottle that was broken, a dilapidated medical (and mental) condition, and an association that performed a miracle

I spent the last week staring at the fluid dripping into a tube connected to my left arm.

It was a successful medical treatment for a prolonged problem, and now hello to me and I hope it came up nicely.

Indeed, spending a few hours each day in a day hospital ward (thanks to Gates of Justice, a wonderful hospital) provides all sorts of social revelations that the people outside the ward lose.

I am a longtime follower of our infamous medical system, seeing it as a shining gem in the achievements of the state and despising its critics and those who regularly attach the description "collapsing", while at the same time receiving premium medical services for a meager and equal monthly fee.

I admire the medical staff and the nursing staff, but this time I was exposed to another part of this lineup, which caused me admiration and I can not help but tell about it.

Have you heard of the Yuri Stern Holistic Assistance Center? Since I shared treatment rooms with cancer patients, I also received this benefit, which is impossible not to be moved to tears: a variety of pampering holistic treatments such as reflexology for patients, while receiving treatment by professional therapists Volunteer. The medical contribution is probably great, but the mental contribution is really tremendous.

And now listen to the following story: The treatment I received is an expensive treatment, in which every drop is important.

Every day I showed up at the ward, an infusion was added, and the healing fluid slowly trickled in.

The last day was especially festive.

I came in the morning armed with mountains of cakes and candies to the great staff, and while I sat down in my armchair and the nurse installed the first bottle on the infusion column - boom.

The bottle fell and shattered.

We both shook hands in despair and looked at the thousands of shekels in the transparent puddle at our feet.

The eyes were full of tears, a little rage had crept in, and most of all a lot of despair.

What now?

The HMO will no longer provide such a bottle and the hospital does not hold it at all.

What is left but to despair?

What happened next just surpasses all imagination, and if it had not happened to me I would not have believed.

Exactly two hours later I was in possession of a new, well-packaged bottle of the medicine, which was brought to me by a special courier I had sent to Bnei Brak.

"Medical friends", as this association is called, that what it knows how to do is provide medicines to the needy for free and there is no money, in case the medicines are not in the basket or in the case of bad luck like me, whose bottles shatter at their feet.

The nurse experienced a small prayer, we called the association, it turned out that the medicine was in stock, we filled out forms on the website, attached a prescription, sent what was needed - and within a quarter of an hour the driver was in Bnei Brak and collected the bottle.

It takes an hour and a half for one bottle to enter a vein, a period of time that was enough for me to realize that our condition was good, very good.

A company that has a startup like "Medical Friends" has a future.

Thank you friends - and we will not have to.
