The Central District Police Fraud Unit is investigating a suspicion of bias in tenders in favor of suppliers at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, the publication was allowed today (Thursday).

The investigation into the matter was opened about a month and a half ago covertly, among other things following a suspicion that arose in the hospital regarding tenders in the field of maintenance.

To date, a number of those involved have been investigated, including a senior at the medical center in the field of logistics and procurement, another senior in the field of logistics engineering and ten other employees.

In addition, a renovation contractor resident of Rehovot who won the same tenders was detained.

At the same time, testimonies were collected from many employees and documents and computers were confiscated.

The investigation is in progress and during which more people are expected to be questioned.

The suspicion is that the bidding of the tenders was done over the years and caused great financial damage.

According to estimates, the motive for the acts was favors.

The main suspects were released on bail and the senior officer involved from the hospital was removed from his job for questioning purposes for 14 days.
