Residents refuse: But a special procedure finally enables the renovation of Flurstrasse

Flurstrasse in Oedenstockach is finally being renovated.

With a special asphalt process, the municipality circumvents the protracted residents' protest.

Putzbrunn – Since 2008, Putzbrunn has been working on the renovation of the dilapidated Flurstrasse in Oedenstockach.

A local resident has so far successfully prevented this.

The municipality is now using a new method in which the holes are tarred.

But no one knows how long that will last.

The road between Münchner Strasse and the district of Oedenstockach is so bad that Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (SPD) has even had it closed to through traffic for reasons of traffic safety, but hardly any motorists are interested.

“I really tried everything”

For 14 years, the community has been trying to find an amicable solution with the owner of the property on Münchner Straße.

However, he refuses to sell a part and forbids the community from any construction work that goes into depth.

"I really tried everything to change the mind of the property owner, in vain," said Klostermeier in the building committee.

"Unfortunately, an expropriation is ruled out, since the facts of the case of necessity are not given.

The district is easily accessible via Keferloher-Markt-Strasse, Flurstrasse is actually not necessary.

Robert Schmelzer (CSU) sees things differently.

“The street is part of the town, has grown over the centuries and was only heavily used when there was construction work on Keferloher-Markt-Straße.

We absolutely have to keep it.” He suggested a complete expansion to the property of the refuser, from there a one-way street because the street wasn't wide enough for oncoming traffic.

Sybille Martinschledde (Greens) criticized the fact that the municipality had only ever decided in favor of car traffic, "now there is the opportunity to do something for cyclists and pedestrians.

I therefore propose the demolition of the field and forest path." Walter Hois (GPP) added: "Oedenstockach will grow strongly in the coming years, then the property beneficiaries should do something and build a nice, wide road."

Asphalt is poured over holes

However, the restructuring was a done deal when Klostermeier sided with Schmelzer.

He considers a field and forest path to be just as bad as a pedestrian and cycle path or a one-way system.

The mayor recommended the "DSK process" for this, which simply involves asphalting over the bumps, holes and cracks e.

Cost point: 40,000 euros.

Klostermeier found a cheap and quick solution: "Then the road can be used by everyone again and we can remove the forbidden signs."

Josef Jakob (FWG) had serious doubts as to whether the asphalt covering could withstand the load of trucks and heavy tractors with trailers.

"If we don't do proper edge reinforcement, it won't last five years," he said.

According to Marcel Thomas, head of the building authority, the process has been used in municipalities such as Ebersberg and Grafing for years, "and they are completely satisfied".

With a vote of 5:2, the building committee decided to use the DSK process in Flurstraße.
