The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the surrender of 771 operatives of the extremist Nazi Azov battalion at the Azovstal factory in Mariupol during the past 24 hours, in addition to the destruction of hundreds of Ukrainian military targets, including headquarters, as part of the continuation of the special military operation to protect the residents of Donbass.
"During the past 24 hours, 771 militants of the Nazi Azov battalion surrendered at the Azovstal factory, including 80 wounded, and all are receiving the necessary medical services in the hospitals of the cities of Novozavosk Doe and Donetsk in the Donetsk People's Republic," the ministry's spokesman, Major-General Igor Konashenkov said in a press briefing today.

Konashenkov added, "During the past 24 hours, with the use of high-precision Russian air missiles, 7 headquarters of the command were destroyed, including the headquarters of the 24th Mechanized Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the town of Nikolaevka, the 104th Regiment of Regional Defense in the vicinity of the town of Konastinovka, and 11 depots of weapons, missile and artillery munitions in the towns of Bakhmut and Konastinovka. Ilinka and Minkovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, 26 manpower mobilization sites, combat equipment and a battery of the (S-300) anti-aircraft system in the town of Bolshiy Lomzaky in the Nikolayev region and a battery of the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft system in the vicinity of the town of Slavianogork in the Donetsk People’s Republic. .
Konashenkov noted that operational and tactical aviation targeted two command headquarters and 58 sites for mobilizing manpower and combat equipment, 340 Nazi extremists were eliminated and 62 pieces of combat equipment were disabled.
Konashenkov pointed out that the missile and artillery forces also destroyed 6 command headquarters, 295 manpower mobilization sites and combat equipment, 43 artillery and mortar positions, and two radar stations. Also, 12 Smerch rocket launchers were intercepted in the two aforementioned governorates.
According to Konashenkov, since the start of the special operation, 172 aircraft, 125 helicopters and 942 drones have been shot down, 313 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3158 tanks and other armored vehicles, 395 rocket launchers, 1,562 field guns and mortars, as well as 3026 special military vehicles of its kind have been destroyed.
