Schliersee – The security guard has been on the move in Schliersee for some time, including at Spitzingsee.

The Miesbach police now drew a first conclusion.

In September 2019, the Schliersee municipal councils decided with 8:4 votes to introduce a security guard in addition to the police.

At the most recent meeting of the market town council, representatives of the Miesbach Police Inspectorate drew a conclusion.

"It's a bad time for a progress report - because of Corona," said Miesbach's head of department, Katharina Schreiber.

Due to the lockdowns, the operating times have been rather short so far.

Of the 16 applications received, the police officers found half to be suitable.

"We currently have three security guards working for us," said Schreiber.

"Six employees are approved."

For them, the work of the security guard is positive because the employees are motivated and committed to their work.

"I'm very proud of the employees," said Schreiber.

In 2022, the security guard was on the road for 62 hours.

"The whole thing is slowly picking up speed," said the head of the department.

The volunteers are usually out and about in the Kurpark.

"Preventively through the uniform or as a contact person," said Tanja Zehetmair, who is responsible for the security guard team.

"Holiday makers often just ask for directions."

In winter, at the request of the municipality, the ski lifts were patrolled and information was provided about corona measures and parking spaces, but also about the nightly closure of the slopes due to preparation work.

Direct reports from the security guard to the police have not been necessary so far.

Comrade-in-arms wanted for security guard

Gerhard Waas (Greens) recalled that the decision to introduce a security guard was made in 2019 for just one year.

Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer promised to put the proposal for an extension on the agenda at the next municipal council meeting and have it voted on.

An association with Miesbach or Hausham would be desirable for the police in order to be able to deploy the employees more flexibly.

The security guard is the contact and link to the police.

We are still looking for citizens who want to get involved in community life.

The activity as an employee at the security guard is voluntary, but is remunerated.

The working time is between 5 and 15 hours per month.

A detailed 40-hour training course must be completed beforehand.
