In the Dachau Süd middle school, a student sprayed irritant gas in the classroom.

Seven students were slightly injured.

The police are now investigating.

Dachau – There was a large-scale deployment of rescue workers at the middle school in Dachau-Süd yesterday, Thursday.

An eighth grader sprayed animal repellent spray in the classroom.

Seven students were slightly injured, as Vice President Michaela Groß announced when asked.

The adolescents felt itchy eyes and shortness of breath.

The rest of the students also had complaints, but they disappeared immediately, as Groß reported.

The class management then evacuated the classroom and took the 25 students to the playground and the auditorium.

She then contacted the ambulance.

According to Groß, several ambulances and the police arrived.

The rescue workers were able to provide medical care to the students on site, so that no one had to go to the hospital.

"There was no danger to life or limb," said Groß.

After the emergency services treated the injured students, they were picked up by their parents.

The other students spent the rest of the lesson in another classroom.

As Konrector Groß announced, it has not yet been clarified how the incident could have happened.

But she thinks it was an accident.

A schoolgirl discovered the spray at her classmate's.

"She probably thought it was a body spray," says Vice President Groß.

The student was not aware that it was irritant gas.

The police are now investigating because of negligent bodily harm.

Unlike pepper spray, possession of an animal repellent spray is legal, according to Björn Scheid, spokesman for the Dachau Police Inspectorate.

So there is no violation of gun laws.

"For the student," says Groß, "the incident will "certainly have consequences."

This will be worked up afterwards with the students, teachers and parents on Friday and Monday.
