(CNN) --
The United States Senate voted Thursday to approve a bill worth some $40 billion to send aid to Ukraine as the country fends off brutal and unprovoked attacks from Russia.
The measure passed the House of Representatives earlier this month and will now go to President Joe Biden to sign it into law.
The legislation provides money for military and humanitarian aid, including funding to assist Ukraine's military and national security forces, help replenish warehouses of U.S. equipment shipped to Ukraine, and provide public health and medical support to Ukrainian refugees
