As a record number of superyachts hit the market, designers have been pushing the boundaries further and further to make sure their concepts stand out.

In recent years, we've seen several wacky yacht designs inspired by spaceships, sharks, post-apocalyptic movies, and even origami.

However, this new concept from Indian yacht design studio Bhushan Powar Design could be one of the most eye-catching to date.

The 110-meter vessel, named Zion, features an impressive glass dome that looks like a giant eye or "black hole."

striking design

It serves as a viewing platform for those aboard the superyacht, offers 360-degree views, and is sure to attract maximum attention at sea.

"Our concept draws attention with its modern elegance and amazes the owner with the mysteries of the deep," the designers say, before noting that black holes, points in space so dense they create deep gravity sinks, "attract energy ".

Aside from the dome, which is clearly its most prominent feature, Zion will have a glass-bottomed infinity pool, as well as a glass elevator that goes from deck to deck.

On the upper deck of the vessel, which has an aluminum structure, there is a flybridge where passengers can rest and enjoy the views "in all weather conditions" and also a 12-meter helipad.

awesome amenities

There are 10 luxurious staterooms on board and one main deck suite with electrically operated sky lounge balconies.

The lower deck is made up of a beach club area with a gym and an open garden space that can be transformed into a spacious sun lounge via folding decks on either side.

Zion, which is estimated to be priced between $500 million and $600 million, will also feature a large auxiliary garage filled with jet skis and various other water toys.

While it's still just a concept, design studio founder Bhushan Powar is hopeful that Zion could one day become a reality.

However, he admits that it will take a lot of time and research to determine if this is possible.

Based in Goa, Bhushan Powar Design was launched in 2019 and describes itself as the "first luxury yacht design studio in India".

innovative concepts

The study's concepts are heavily influenced by the Arabian Sea, says Powar.

In 2019, the design team introduced Mori, a 90-meter superyacht concept that was inspired by the shortfin mako shark.

Zion is one of several innovators that have been revealed this year.

Rome-based design firm Lazzarini Design Studio recently unveiled Air Yacht, a new concept that can "sail in the sky" as well as the ocean.

Meanwhile, Italian design studio SkyStyle showed its latest Unique 71 design, a 71-meter knife-shaped superyacht, in January.
