Tehran-Sana

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the negative effects of unilateral and coercive sanctions on human rights stressed that these effects in Iran included high inflation, a shortage of basic needs and a threat to the lives of Iranian citizens.

And the Iranian Fars News Agency quoted Dohan as saying in a report issued at the end of her 12-day visit to Iran because “the unilateral ban against Iran and its consequences and extremist commitment to it negatively affect human lives, especially the weakest group in society,” expressing deep concern after listening to the stories of some patients and their suffering. to get the medicines and medical equipment they need.

Dohan pointed to the very high cost of medicines and medical equipment and their loss in some cases due to the repercussions of the ban, noting that the ban also affected many university and technological sectors, handicrafts, Iranian economic growth and cooperation with other countries.

The Rapporteur considered that imposing the ban on companies that deal with Iran is illegal, in addition to the fact that preventing Iranian diplomats from opening bank accounts is inconsistent with the Vienna Treaty, calling on the United States to immediately cancel this ban imposed on the Iranian people because it is not justified in terms of international laws.
