In the city of Mariupol, which is occupied by Russian troops, fears of a disease outbreak are growing.
Tens of thousands of dead people who died during the siege through fighting or undersupply are said to lie in mass graves.
In addition, the sewage system has long since stopped working in the completely bombed-out city.
Vadym Boichenko, Mayor of Mariupol:
»The occupiers buried our killed citizens in a completely chaotic manner.
The sewage washes out these graves.
Unfortunately, this is an epidemiological problem.”
Mariupol's Ukrainian mayor left the city before the conquest.
He is said to be in a secret location in Ukraine.
From there he sends video messages.

Unfortunately, that could cost the lives of thousands of our fellow citizens.”
Meanwhile, the fighting in the Luhansk region is developing more and more into trench warfare.
Ukrainian armed forces released these recordings.
They are intended to show how soldiers plant explosive devices on a strategically important bridge in order to slow down the Russian advance.
The Russian army, in turn, released videos from Mariupol intended to show the power of their weapons.
She also announced that she would now use newly developed "laser weapons".
