Weilheim – There were three variants in the room, one wanted to be decided on – and in the end they did so.

Once again, the district committee dealt with the gymnasium at the Weilheim high school.

The result: a majority vote for a new building with two halls.

The topic is "a perennial favorite," said district administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiss (CSU) and immediately gave the floor to Florian Steinbach, department head of the municipal construction and property management.

Steinbach reported that there was still some uncertainty about KfW funding.

If anything, you get around 600,000 euros.

"Not to sound pretentious, but that doesn't make the herb fat," he said.

As far as the options for action are concerned, there were theoretically three options to choose from, but only one seemed to make sense in practice.

The options were: the "Renovation" variant, which would cost 6.0 million euros, including a safety buffer, but plus the lost planning costs of around 1.2 million euros, the "New Building 1+1" variant New building with two hall parts, the 7.0 to 8,

0 million euros would cost, also plus lost planning costs, and the "new building 2+1" variant, which provides for three hall parts.

There are still a number of things that need to be clarified for all variants, such as the energy standard, heat supply, mechanical ventilation and accessibility.

"We favor the variant of the renovation," emphasized Markus Kunzendorf (ödp).

From his point of view, the "2+1" variant is "through".

Wolfgang Scholz (CSU) spoke out in favor of the "1+1" variant of the new building, because this would be the cheaper solution in the life cycle.

Wolfgang Taffertshofer (BfL) found it difficult to make a decision.

The energy standard concerned Markus Bader (SPD), who emphasized that "we all want to build ecologically, of course", but that the costs also have to be seen in relation to the lifespan of the building.

Karl-Heinz Grehl (Greens) thought it was timely to think about energy consumption and spoke out in favor of the “1+1” option.

The old gym cannot be renovated, "basically" it is "only gymnasiums" that are not suitable for ball sports.

We also “tend” towards this variant, said Michael Marksteiner (Freie Wahler).

Rüdiger Imgart (AfD) would have “liked to dare” the “adventure”, the “2+1” variant, which is why his heart bleeds a bit.

He "couldn't do anything" with a renovation, said Klaus Gast (CSU), who also advocated the construction of a double gymnasium.

Kunzendorf stood alone with his pro-renovation pronunciation.

"It's not just about the finances for us," he clarified, it's about gray energy for his group and himself.

Jochner-Weiß's heart also bled, given the third variant that has now been written off.

You will agree to the "1+1" option.

The charm of this variant would be to get two new halls as quickly as possible, district treasurer Norbert Merk made clear.

In the end, the majority of the committee voted (dissenting vote: Kunzendorf) to recommend the “New Building 1+1” variant to the district council.

With this variant you stay with only two halls.

But now you have the opportunity, as Jochner-Weiss emphasized, to build a gym "that corresponds to the norm".
