Dortmund separates from Rose: Terzic becomes successor

The 45-year-old only took over from Dortmund before the end of the season.
According to a media report, a successor has already been determined and will come from within the company's own ranks.
Dortmund – Borussia Dortmund is parting ways with coach Marco Rose and, according to a media report, has already found a successor in Edin Terzic.
According to information from the TV broadcaster Sky, the 39-year-old will take over BVB.
According to the report, the announcement of the personnel should already take place this weekend.
In its announcement on Friday about the Rose-Aus, Borussia announced that it would hold talks about the composition of the future coaching team in the coming days.
"This day is not an easy one for any of us, because mutual respect was, is and will be great," said BVB Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke after Rose's split.
"After a season that was unsatisfactory for various reasons, we had to realize that we didn't get the most out of our opportunities in many areas."
Terzic took over BVB last season after Lucien Favre was released and looked after him for most of the season.
He led Dortmund to victory in the DFB Cup and the Champions League.
After Rose's commitment, he became technical director at the Revierclub.
He would be the logical successor candidate.
Rose was brought to BVB by league competitor Borussia Mönchengladbach last season.
With the team around super striker Erling Haaland, who is moving to Manchester City, he finished second in the table, but could not seriously threaten FC Bayern Munich at the top.
With a lead of eight points, Bayern became German champions again this year.
In the Champions League, BVB was eliminated after the preliminary round.
In the subsequent qualification for the knockout phase of the Europa League, Dortmund failed at eventual finalists Glasgow Rangers.
In the DFB Cup it was over after the round of 16 at FC St. Pauli.
"Despite a difficult season with many uncertainties, I was convinced of our path," said Rose.
“During our conversation I got the impression that the 100% conviction of those responsible is no longer there.
Ultimately, we therefore decided together to end the cooperation.”
Dortmund's former license player boss and sports director from this summer, Sebastian Kehl, had recently said in the Sport1 "double pass": "I can clearly say that I'm planning the coming season with Marco."
After Rose's successor in Mönchengladbach, Adi Hütter, Markus Weinzierl at FC Augsburg, Florian Kohfeldt at VfL Wolfsburg and Sebastian Hoeneß at TSG Hoffenheim, Rose is already the fifth Bundesliga head coach to leave after the end of the season.
Relegated SpVgg Greuther Fürth also presented Marc Schneider as the successor to Stefan Leitl, who is moving to Hannover 96.

Rose's assistant trainer Alexander Zickler as well as René Maric and athletic trainer Patrick Eibenberger are also leaving Dortmund.
