The driver of a box van was targeted by the police on Thursday.

He was traveling at 117 km/h on the B11 - and therefore much too fast.

Geretsried – In the evening hours of Thursday, a patrol from the Weilheim Traffic Police Inspectorate (VPI) carried out speed checks on the B 11 in the Geretsried area.

Shortly after 8 p.m., a 24-year-old from Geretsrieder with a van was targeted by the officer who was monitoring traffic with a laser measuring gun: the young man was measured at 117 km/h instead of the permitted speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

Over 1.1 per mil

Since the speed offender did not want to stop during the subsequent check, instead simply continued driving, the officers took up the pursuit with the patrol car.

They were finally able to stop the 24-year-old a kilometer later.

During the subsequent identity check, it turned out that the man from Geretsried was clearly under the influence of alcohol.

A breath alcohol test revealed a value of over 1.1 per mille, i.e. in the range of a criminal offense.

Two points in the traffic offender file

The police officers ordered a blood test and secured the Geretsrieder's driver's license.

The man, who is now under investigation for a traffic offence, faces a driver's license suspension for several months, as well as a hefty fine and two points in the "Flensburg Traffic Offenders File".
