The elementary school students at Ludwig-Simmet-Anger in Erding have been waiting for this for weeks.
The first chicks hatched at the school.
And they were there live.
Altenerding - For three weeks there has been a lot of excitement in the elementary school on Ludwig-Simmet-Anger - among students and teachers.
Because in a currently unused classroom there are numerous eggs in a warming box.
Hardly a minute goes by without one of the children checking to see if the first chick has hatched.
The time had come on Thursday: Punctually after 21 days, the first critter pecked through the shell.
During the day his “siblings” followed.
These were unique moments for the girls and boys.
It was made possible by student teacher Hanna Ertl, who is currently working as a mobile reserve at Simmet-Anger.
Her friend is a chicken breeder - and that's how the unique project came about in home and general knowledge lessons in the three fourth grades.
Teacher Sandra Friedrich from 4b reports: "We dealt intensively with chickens and eggs, with their appearance and hatching, types of husbandry and the stamps on the eggs." The children were able to follow the growth of the chicks with a special lamp.
Xhenajd says it was particularly exciting to see the chick's heartbeat inside the egg.
Angelina loved seeing the eggs crack as the chicks pecked them.
For Aylis it was exciting "how the chicks move in the egg".
You will not forget this lesson.
