THE FIGARO SELECTION - Sporty, family or contemplative, the new courses at height are already at the start.

Vertiginous crapahute, in Courchevel

Previously known only to insiders, the Via Cavo del Mey hike, or Aiguille de Mey tower, is now accessible thanks to the installation of a new handrail.

Airy and spectacular with its steep dolomite-like reliefs, the excursion (6 hours minimum) is reserved for the most experienced walkers and must imperatively be carried out with a guide.

Which will take you from Lac de la Rosière to the Poux waterfall, towards the verdant Avals valley, between Courchevel and Pralognan, before taking you to the Portetta breach, at an altitude of more than 2600 m, a mineral landscape of passages narrow, guardians of stones and scree.

It is from here that we can now go around the needle.

Breathtaking, the panorama opens up to the Vanoise glaciers.
