The Tegucigalpa mayor's office reported Thursday that, given the heavy rains experienced in recent hours, flooding has been recorded and there are more than 20 affected areas.
So far, the authorities have not reported deaths or injuries after the heavy flooding.
In a statement, the mayor's office added that the heavy rains caused the flooding of the La Salada and La Orejona tributaries.
Units of the Municipal Emergency Committee, Municipal Cleaning, have been mobilized to the affected areas for cleaning work and assistance to people who are possibly affected.
The statement added that as a result of the heavy rains, a subsidence of the road is presented in the Prados Universitarios area, to which a team has been transferred to study the situation and begin repairs to the road.
