It was one of the events that will mark the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival: Julia Roberts presented the Chopard trophy to two young emerging actors.
Total black Dior look, impeccable bun, the Hollywood star appeared last night, Thursday May 19, on the Carlton beach in an almost religious calm.
We expected a general hysteria on the part of festival-goers and photographers but Miss Roberts naturally imposes a distance.
It was therefore peacefully that she descended the stairs leading to the reception to offer her legendary smile to the cameras, surrounded by Xavier Dolan - who directed her in the Chopard campaign - and Caroline Scheufele, co-president and director art from Chopard.

After the quickly dispatched photo session, she took her place among the guests under a magnificent tent where candles and bouquets of pink orchids created a warm and refined atmosphere.
On the menu that evening: lobster salad, turbot, celery and virgin leaf and traou mad with vanilla and ice cream.

In a joyful atmosphere and under the attentive gaze of the guests including the president of this 75th edition Vincent Lindon, Noomi Rapace, Saoirse Ronan, Ladj Li, Benjamin Biolay, Joséphine Japy, Lolita Chammah, Damien Bonnard, Finnegan Olfield or even Pascal Elbé, Julia Roberts took the microphone to say a few words before presenting the Chopard trophy to Sheila Atim and Jack Lowden.
Every planetary star having its requirements, the Oscar-winning actress asked all the spectators to put their mobile phones on the table.

) said they were honored to have Julia Roberts as their godmother.
Before them, Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux, Diane Kruger, Florence Pugh received this prize created more than twenty years ago.
