Lightning strikes the roof structure: house in Franconia catches fire during a storm

The thunderstorms in Bavaria have already caused the first damage.
Lightning struck an attic, which immediately caught fire.
Even basements were full.
Zellingen – Experts had predicted it: Storms raged in Bavaria on Friday night.
The north was particularly affected.
In Franconia, the thunderstorms raged and left a trail of devastation in their wake.
Overall, the storm that ripped through northern Bavaria turned out to be less severe than announced.
The German Weather Service (DWD) did not even rule out tornadoes.
The gusts of wind were not quite as strong, but they still uprooted 20-30 trees, according to the Lower Franconia police.

Comparatively, thunderstorms and heavy rain caused little damage.
The family of a house in Zellingen (Würzburg district) would probably not sign that.
Lightning apparently struck the home of the family of four around 8:30 p.m.
The attic caught fire immediately.
The fire brigade quickly got the fire in the roof structure under control.

"When the emergency services arrived, flames erupted from the roof of the detached house," the police said.
The family escaped in time.
Nobody got hurt.
The fire was fought by the volunteer fire brigades from Karlstadt, Zellingen and Retzbach, which are on site with around 60 firefighters.
They quickly got the fire under control.
Storm in Bavaria floods the basement
Police have also been called to other cases, mostly involving fallen trees, broken traffic signs and flooded basements.
For Friday, the German Weather Service (DWD) reports continued heavy rain and heavy gusts of wind at up to 100 kilometers per hour, especially for northern Bavaria.
On the night of Saturday, heavy rain of up to 35 liters per square meter is expected in the Alps and in the foothills of the Alps within a few hours.
