Big rush at the beginning of the May holidays at Hamburg Airport: A spokeswoman had already declared in advance that Friday would be the busiest day for travel since the beginning of the corona pandemic.
On Friday morning, numerous people crowded the security checkpoints.
At times, the waiting times were 60 minutes, said a press spokesman for the Federal Police of the German Press Agency.
Hamburg - In the early afternoon, the situation had eased again.
According to the spokeswoman, up to 45,000 arrivals and departures were expected at the airport.
The federal police appealed to passengers to pack their hand luggage in accordance with the regulations in order to avoid longer waiting times.
