Taxi robbery in Ngau Tau Kok.
At about 4 am today (21st), a taxi was picking up a male passenger at Choi Tak Village. Just as it left the village entrance to Choi Hing Road, it was reported that the 49-year-old male driver was restrained by a railway line from the back. Neck, and robbed with a knife, the driver fought hard and continued to drive. During the period, the suspect fell out of the car and was injured. The driver immediately called the police.
The police arrived to intercept and arrest the 79-year-old suspect. He and the taxi driver were both injured and were taken to United Hospital for treatment.
Police seized two sharp knives in the suspect's rucksack and temporarily classified the case as "attempted robbery", "wounding" and "possession of offensive weapon".
