Nursing professionals are in demand.

The trainees at the Starnberg clinics are on the right track.

They passed their six-month probationary period.

Starnberg – Half a year ago, Elisa Walker started her training as a nursing specialist at the vocational school for nursing at the Starnberg clinics.

Her interim conclusion: “We work with very nice and open-hearted people here.

The practice is just as much fun as the theory because it is a very varied job.

The reason: Walker recently passed the probationary period with her colleagues from the 2021/24 class.

Nursing director Susanne Müller emphasizes: “There are still two and a half years ahead of the trainees.

The first milestone has been reached.” The students completed three theory blocks, they received insights into different action situations in which the nursing aspects of people of all ages with different clinical pictures were taken into account.

"Through competence orientation and exemplary learning, our students should achieve a high level of transferability," explains headmistress Daniela Matzke.

An essential part of the theoretical content includes the job-specific working method of the nursing process with nursing diagnoses as well as the evaluation and development of the quality of nursing.

Tasks that are reserved for nurses with the professional title Nursing Specialist.

Another building block according to Matzke:

the not always easy communication with sometimes seriously ill people.

In the practice block, the trainees were supported by specialists and practice instructors on the wards of the Starnberg Clinic.

"The students have done an excellent job so far," praises Headmistress Matzke.

The continuously developed curriculum has proven its worth.

Incidentally, thanks to a close-meshed hygiene concept, teaching is again in presence form, “which the students are very happy about,” says Matzke.

She emphasizes: "With the general training, our students have a future-oriented and attractive perspective, after the three years many career paths are open to them."

The qualification, which is recognized throughout the EU, enables care from infants to the elderly.

In clinics, but also in the outpatient area and in inpatient short- or long-term care.

The message ends with Matzke's words: "The pandemic has once again revealed the great responsibility of nurses for the life and health of society." mm
