Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Russian government to evaluate the actions of the World Trade Organization to limit trade with Russia and made proposals to update the strategy of Russia's participation in this organization.
"The government should carry out a comprehensive assessment of the measures taken by WTO member states in 2022 to restrict trade with Russia and the extent to which the measures comply with the rules and principles of the organization," Putin said during a meeting on the development of Russia's mining sector.
For their part, deputies submitted to the State Duma earlier a bill to discuss the issue of Russia's exit from the agreement establishing the World Trade Organization.
A representative of the Russian state corporation Rostec recently confirmed that Western sanctions against Moscow constitute a real violation of the rules of the World Trade Organization.
